Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, according to municipal leaders.
Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.
Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.
"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.
Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.
Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.
A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.
Local officials said the city came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.
The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.
Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.
Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
